At the begin of this week Amazee has born again. With a totally new user interface, and other improvement at the speed and code level. The work was hard, but I think that in the end, there was a successful relaunch. Keep reading to see some of the new features in Amazee.

it is not about the fact that yesterday and today 2 applications for (very) large companies went online.

is is about the fact that we managed to finish a total of 5 projects in the last five days.

given the fact that at every and each project deployment a lot of things can go wrong, we managed to put everything online ON TIME.

I have to say a big thanks to all of my colleagues and also thank for the great support our customers and partners we worked with during the last months.

and since feedback has been very positive till now I am looking forward to see more of this :-)

a few weeks ago KPMG launched their growthgenerator.ch based on the technology solution epoint developed for amazee.

extending their services by offering white label solutions that are based on the experience gained during the last 3 years, amazee now launched the next platform.

http://aktion294.your-flashforward.de (part of Pro7 Germany) had 250.000 hits during the first day after the launch.

event the solution we developed is based on the drupal 5.2 core, it runs smoothly and stable under such circumstances :-).

it feels good to have such large scale deployments :-)

I was reading some articles about steve jobs trying to convince major newspapers (like Wall Street Journal) to use non-flash (mainly JS) technology instead of the - as he called it old (we (Apple) don't “spend a lot of energy on old technology”)

now, of course he has to push his new market defining products (iphone and now Ipad) and since they are not supporting flash (CPU problems, battery issues) he has to point alternatives.

Amazee won its first big contest (I think it's the bigger one until now). It is about the Swiss ICT Award. What can I say, I think they deserve it, they work hard every day and it looks like their work is starting to give results.

A few months ago, due to the week performance of the Amazee application for some pages, the need for a speed improvement came up. So, we tried to think about some ways of improving the overall speed of the Amazee site. A very good idea came from Liviu: caching the locale in memory. The locale functionality is one or maybe even the most used in the Amazee application, and in general in all Drupal based sites so a good way of caching the localization strings is vital for a good speed of the application. This was even more vital in this case, because at the moment, in Amazee there are over 3500-4000 strings. Also, at the moment there are 2 languages enabled, but the number could increase.

Unic Austria asked us to collaborate with them on a Drupal based community concept. The inital concept of the platform was created by Unic in collaboration with 3M Austria and it's called "Zukunft-Innovation". The concept, started from the idea of crowdsourcing, implies a the development of a communication platform that allows companies (that need innovation) and
innovators (that have a lot of ideas how to make better products for example) to develop great innovations.

It is nice to hear that clients are satisfied and they are recommending us. Since we are still in stealth mode with this client, I am not allowed to tell you any names.

So... I got an email (it was actually a discussion between 2 colleagues about our services and so on...)
The last email was a "thank you reply.. " and contained also a screenshot taken from this blog.

Stiati ca... in Germania exista peste 1800 de sortimente de iaurt cu fructe? Daca ne gandim pur teoretic, la cate iaurturi sunt, ar trebui sa avem cam tot atatea reclame, nu-i asa? Or, daca ar fi sa vina inspre noi toate aceste 1800 de reclame, probabil ca am innebuni.

Din fericire, practica difera usor de teorie. Iar acest lucru se datoreaza consumatorului, care avanseaza de la stadiu de simplu spectator la cel de catalizator.
